as far as the running game goes.
It doesn't mean we won't see the
passing game as much however
in a different way. In fact if the
Seahawks running game is more
effective it will make the passing
game more effective.
So during the offseason there has
been rumors that starting running
back Kenneth Walker III was going
to be traded. One of the teams he
was going to was the Las Vegas
Raiders. Even being traded during
the draft was mentioned which
didn't happen.
As all Seahawks know Walker has
had a hard time staying healthy
and missing several games a season.
Walker has been known to be one
the top backs in the NFL. The trouble
has been the offensive line when he
has been healthy. Another issue
could be Geno Smith since he seemed
like throwing the ball a lot. Now that
he Isn't here that should change.
The Seahawks still have Zach
Charbonnet who was drafted in
the second round the year after
Walker was. To keep Walker
healthy splitting the carries
between the two would be a
good idea. They are different
type of runners as well.
The Seahawks have Kenneth
McIntosh who was drafted two
years ago in the seventh round.
He hasn't had a lot of carries.
Any players drafted in the
seventh round I am sure has
some weakness too.
This draft the Seahawks got
another running back in the
seventh round in Damien
Martinez who played last
year at Miami after transfer
from Oregon State. He will
be competition for the third
running back with McIntosh.
The Seahawks drafted a fullback
in the fifth round last week. He is
Robbie Ouzts from Alabama.
He played tight end in college.
The Seahawks felt that he would
be perfect at fullback and he listed
first string on the depth chart
already.
Brady Russell who was listed at
tight end for two seasons with
the Seahawks primarily on special
teams was switched over to full
back before the draft. He is listed
as the second fullback right now.
We will get into the tight end
position next time unless the
Seahawks have other pressing
news. We could see Ouzts and
Russell in the game at the same
time with one being second tight
end and the other at fullback.
Go Hawks.
