pitching in close games until
late when the bats do their job.
Jorge Polanco drove in a Ben
Williamson with a single in the
third inning making it 1-0.
The score stayed that until
the eighth inning when Julio
hit a grand slam home run to
put it out of reach sort of.
Luis Castillo pitched well
giving up only three his
and no runs. What made it
real good was he didn't walk
a batter either. Good to see
that.
Ben Williamson scored on
Julio's home run. In fact he
had three hits on the day.
Now maybe he will hit in
a few more games.
The Mariners brought in
Troy Taylor in the ninth
after Collin Snider did
the 8th. He continues
to struggle giving up
two hits and two walks.
The White Sox got a run
on a hit with the bases
loaded and two outs.
Manager Dan Wilson out
and brought in Andre Munoz
who struck out the last
batter. It looks like Taylor
should go back to Tacoma
to straighten things out. We
will see.
Casey Lawrence is expected to
start game two on Tuesday
however it is expected to rain
all day so who knows whether
the game will be player but
since the Mariners have a
day game on Wednesday before
going to Texas they will try to
play it if possible.
The Mariners are now two and a half
games ahead of the Astros who
took two out of three from the
Rangers who are three back over
the weekend. The Astros beat
the Rays Monday 4-3.
