Woo Does it Again

Bryan Woo has to be one of
the best starting pitchers in
the major leagues.

Friday night Woo went six
and one-thirds innings. He
was pitching a perfect game
into the fifth inning when
he gave up his only hit.
Woo didn't allow a walk and
struck out eight Rangers.
This is a good way to start
a road trip.

Final was  Mariners 13  Rangers 1

It looked like after four innings
this could be a tight game.  Cal
Raleigh hit a solo home run
that inning. Cal wasn't done he
hit a grand slam in the fifth
inning. Amazing thing he had
two strikes before taking two
balls then the home run.

Maybe with warmer weather
Julio will get hot too. He hit
a two-run homer in the sixth
inning. Julio batted third
between Polanco and Cal.
Every starter got at least
one hit and most had
multiple hits.

Rhylan Thomas who made
his major league debut with
the Mariners had his first
a double in his second at bat.
He scored his first run on
Cal's grand slam. Later he
drove in a  run on a sacrifice fly
and another on a ground out.

The Mariners were allowed to
rest Andre Munoz once again.
Munoz was named AL reliever
for the month of April.

Luis Castillo will start Saturday
against the Rangers. If he
pitches like he did in his last
outing the Mariners have a
great shot at winning another
game. Go M's.

The Washington Huskies had
their spring game Friday night.
The Gold team won. I don't
take a lot out of it since a lot
of guys played. We should
see whether they lick up
any players in the transfer
portal. Go Dawgs!
