Seahawks Thursday

Now that hss been a week since
the NFL draft I liked the look of
the Seahawks much better.
Look first at the offensive line
which was the biggest need.

The first round the Seahawks
drafted Greg Zabel out of North
Dakota State. His college career
he has played center, guard and
most recently left tackle. The
Seahawks already have Charles
Cross at left tackle and agreed
on his fifth year. Left guard is
considered the top position on
the offensive line. So at this
moment the thought is to improve
left guard in which Zabel is expect
to begin his career.

Being the starting left guard at the
moment doesn't mean he will stay
at the position. Center has been
a problem in most recent seasons
for the Seahawks. Former Alabama
coach Nick Saban said after Zabel
was picked by the Seahawks center
could be his best position. Where
Zabel ends up will depend on how
things work out on the whole line.

Abraham Lucas who was drafted
in 2022 in the third round where
Cross was taken in the first has
had trouble staying healthy the
last couple seasons. There is a
thought that he could from right
tackle to right guard. If that happens
there are several candidates to
take over right tackle. We will
look at a later time if the Seahawks
consider it.

Currently Anthony Bradford is listed
as the starting right guard. He was
drafted in the fourth round in 2023.
Last year the Seahawks drafted
Christian Haynes in the third round
to take over the spot however he
wasn't able to. This year the Seahawks
drafted Bryce Cabeldue in the sixth
round. At this point it is Bradford job
to loose unless Lucas is put into the
position.

We most likely won't know how things
will settle along the offensive line
until fall. The rookies have camp going
on so how much they impress may
help a little. They will have a few
mini camps during  offseason so
how things work out may happen.

The Seahawks will be having a new
offense so it will come down likely
to who can block the best for the
running game.

Next up we will look at the Seahawks
running back group. If any other news
comes up on them we will let you
know.  Go Hawks!
