Mariners Lose In Kirby's First Start

Thursday night was the return and
first start of this season for George
Kirby.  He had made three rehab assignments at triple A  Tacoma
so Mariners were hoping for better.

Kirby pitched well first two innings
however gave up two in the third
and three more in the 4th. Kirby
was taken out with two outs in the
4th. The Mariners pitching didn't get
any better giving up nine runs total.
It didn't matter since the Mariners
only scored two.

Being a four game series we hope
the Mariners bounce back on Friday.
Emerson Hancock is scheduled
to pitch. For now Kirby is going
to pitch every six days. How that
works with the others we will
find out.  Bryce Miller is expected
back next week. Logan Gilbert is
throwing too. He is expected to
make a few rehab assignments.

Both Logan Evans and Emerson
Hancock look to be capable pitchers
so what the Mariners do when Miller
and Gilbert are in the rotation things
will be interesting. Stay tuned and
go M's.
