are preparing for the playoffs.
The Mariners have second seed
set already while Dodgers have
won the National League West.
The Mariners have a bye in the
first round while the Dodgers
have to play in the wild card
beginning on Tuesday.
The Dodgers won Saturday night
with two runs in the top of the 9th.
Final score Dodgers 5 Mariners 3
Logan Gilbert making his last start
before the playoffs went five innings.
The Dodgers hit a two-run homer in
the 5th. Jorge Polanco hit a three-run
homer in the bottom of the 5th.
Logan Evans just off the injured list
went three innings. The Dodgers tied
it in the 7th when Evans threw a wild
pitch. Evans role likely in the playoffs
be throwing long relief.
In the top of the 9th Andre Munoz
walked two batters both scoring
on a double.
Sunday afternoon the Mariners
will have Bryce Miller making
the final start of the regular
season. Miller will likely pitch
out of the bullpen as the Mariners
will go with three or four starters
in the second round.
Logan Gilbert could start the first
game with Luis Castillo in game
two. Castillo has pitched better
at home than on the road. Giving
Bryan Woo more rest to pitch
game three. Game four will likely
be George Kirby. Of course if there
is a 4th game. It goes the distance
Gilbert will likely pitch game five.
