Final Mariners 12 Royals 5
Not only did the Mariners win they
knocked the Kansas City Royals
out of the playoffs. It would have
been tough for the Royals to make
it since they would have to win all
the remaining games of the regular
season.
Cal Raleigh had a double plus back
to back home runs to break Mickey
Mantle record for home runs for a
switch hitter in baseball history. He
hit a home run both left handed and
right handed. Now he has tied Ken
Griffey Jr. with 56 home runs for the Mariners.
Cal wasn't the only one with a big
night. Dominic Canzone who was
at dh with Polanco at second base
and Victor Robles in right field.
Canzone had his greatest night
going 5 for 5 with three home
runs.
Now the Mariners have a ten game
winning streak. Logan Gilbert went
five and two-thirds giving up two runs.
With a big lead he didn't really need
to pitch longer. The Mariners used
five relievers. Bryce Miller will start
on Wednesday. Go M's.
