winning streak that included
extra innings games.
Right now we could say the
Mariners are already in the
playoffs where every game
seems to count.
The Mariners have been hitting
a lot of doubles as well as
home runs during this streak.
Jorge Polanco has 28 doubles
on the season which 11 has
happened in September. His
batting average is .392 this
month compared to April
where he looked hot at the
plate hitting .378. We hope it
keeps going the rest of the
season.
Julio Rodriguez is hitting .316
in September with seven doubles
and four home runs while driving
in 15 runs. Cal who now is now
tied with Ken Griffey Jr. for most
homes in a season for the Mariners.
He is hitting.309 for September with
3 doubles, six home runs and has
drive in 11 runs. This exactly the
same number for walks and strike
outs.
In the pitch department Logan Gilbert
has an era of 3.93 in his last seven
starts. In thirty-six and two-thirds
innings he has walked eight while
striking out 46. George Kirby has
been inconsistent all season with
his last start on September 14th
being the best of the month where
he went six and one-third innings
giving up two runs.
Bryan Woo who has been the best
pitcher on the Mariners this season
and became an all-star September
has been his worst month with three
starts however still good at 3.71 era.
Bryce Miller who will start Wednesday
evening has struggled in September
after coming off the injured list in
mid August we hope his best performance
for the year and backed up by the offense.
Luis Castillo has had his up and downs
all season had rough outing in his
first outing in September has given up
only one run in each of his last two
starts. We hope that he pitches well
again in his next start. The bullpen
has done well in this ten game streak
for the most part. The high leverage
guys have been outstanding while the
other guys have done ok so if the team
can continue to do what they have
then we hope to see a division title
or at least as a wild card. Go M's.
