WSU Cougars Upset Colorado State On the Road

The Washington State Cougars beat
the Colorado State Buffaloes on their
home field Saturday 20-3.

All the scoring happened in the first
half. Neither team scored in the second
half which is very unusual.

The Buffaloes score first in their first
possession of the game  hitting a
50 yard field goal.  The Cougars QB
Zevi Eckhaus threw a 35 yard touchdown
pass on their first possession than
followed with a field goal.

In the second quarter the Cougars took
a 13-3 lead on a field goal in the second
quarter after getting the ball to the
Buffaloes eight yard line.

The Buffaloes had a 4th down and a half
yard to make a first down at midfield
where the Cougars stopped them.
The turnover allowed Eckhaus to
throw a two yard touchdown to end
the scoring. The second half was
all defense.

The Buffaloes for the first time in
85 games hadn't scored a touchdown
at home and the first time since
October 2006 the Cougars didn't
give up a touchdown on the road.

The Cougars have a bye next
Saturday. They play at #13 ranked
Ole Miss on October 11 followed
by  Virginia on the road as well
on October 18. The only home
game in October will be on the
25th against Toledo.

The Cougars now have a record of 3-2.
It won't be easy the rest of the way
however three more wins would get them
into a bowl game. Go Cougs!
