back after beating the A's on Monday
night. They win the series it will be a tight
race still.
Those who follow the Mariners regularly
know they are inconsistent. The broadcast
announcers tell us that as well. Monday's
game showed that most of the runs were
with homers. They did get two runs before
the home runs happened.
Randy Arozarena leads the Mariners bin doubles this season with 13. That is
another good option besides home runs.
Monday's game Randy hit a double
scoring Josh Naylor after he drove in
Colt Emerson.
Luke Raley who leads the Mariners with home runs with ten hit a two run followed by Canzone with Young on base.
Being more consistent is hitting the ball
the other way especially with two strikes.
Colt Emerson who had four hits on Sunday
he looks for the fast ball. Everything else
will work otherwise.
The Mariners are ninth in walks in
the major leagues. The team batting
average is .228 which is ranked 28th
in the majors. The Mariners average
4.14 runs per game while the pitching
the earned run average is 3.66. In
theory the Mariners should have a
winning record.
The inconsistency has come where
they have scored three runs or less
in 27 of 54 games. They are 2-6 in
games where the opposing team
has scored three runs or less too.
There is no data on how many times
the Mariners haven't scored until at
least the 4th inning however they have
scored at least one run in 37 out of
54 games in the first three innings.
So lack of scoring runs has hurt the
Mariners. They don't need to be in the
upper level however improving the
rest of the season should help. Go M's.
