by the San Diego Padres Friday 2-0.
The Mariners continue nothing being
able to beat the Padres this season.
Hopefully they will turn it around
Saturday and Sunday.
The Mariners have shown they can
score a lot of runs however it has
been inconsistent. Cal Raleigh
though he hasn't hit well yet was
out in the injured list for ten days.
They still don't know how serious
Cal's injury is but they are hoping
the ten days will give him enough
time.
The Mariners will have him around
this weekend however he is expected
go go to Arizona for a few days as well.
He may work on his hitting if he can.
The question is how will they be without
him.
It took the Padres until the 4th inning
go score the first run on a double.
The second run was in the 7th inning
on a ground to Josh Naylor.
The .stoners had seven hits. Randy Arozarena had two which keeps him on a good pace
howe dr they couldn't take advantage of it.
Also Cole Young had two hits. Randy is now
hitting .301 and Cole is at .248 and has 24 rbis. If he keeps that rate he will drive in
a lot of runs. In fact if he doesn't play in
all the Mariners games at this rate he will
have 88 rbis at the end of the season.
I know fans have to be confused still
as Connor Joe and Rob Refsynder both
pinched hit. Joe had a walk however
Refsynder went 0 for 2. No matter what
the data says how Raley and Canzone
hit against lefties right now it isn't working.
The Mariners should change things up for at least a short period.
The other three hits in the game were by
Brendan Donovan, Josh Naylor and Canzone.
This is another question if Canzone has a hit
already why not keep him the game.
Besides giving up the one run Emerson Hancock was able to go six innings. He
only walked one batter. Cooper Criswell
went an inning and gave up a run. Jose
Ferrer and Alex Hoppe both went an
inning giving up no runs and giving the
Mariners.
Now we will see how they do on Saturday.
Go M's.
