Frank Clark Goes to Kansas City

The Seattle Seahawks traded defensive end Frank Clark to the Kansas City Chiefs on Tuesday. In return they receive the Chiefs number one draft pick this year along with a number two round pick next year and the two teams switch third round picks this year as well.

Now the Seahawks will likely draft a defensive end to replace Clark. They now have five picks in this year's draft. They could move down trading one or both of the first round picks to receive more picks in this year's draft.

Although I like Frank Clark as a player I am not sure he or any other defensive ends are worth the money they would have put out for over several years. This will mean to the Seahawks will be able to afford to pay Bobby Wagner on his next contract.

The Seahawks most likely will sign a free agent defensive end at a lower cost as well. I am sure we will hear more before the draft comes up in two days.

In baseball news, the Mariners have reactivated Chasen Bradford off the injury list. Rueben Alaniz returns to Tacoma. Alaniz didn't do well when he came up to the Mariners recently. We will see whether he gets another chance during this season. At least we hope that he helps the Rainiers who have had trouble with pitching out of the bullpen.
