Seattle Mariners: The Future Lies Ahead

Now that major league baseball season is over
at least for the Seattle Mariners it is time to reflect
and look forward to positive seasons ahead.

The Mariners didn't make the playoffs once again
but I am sure most of us were thinking they weren't
anyway.

The Mariners future looks bright and the season was
entertaining though a shorter season then any of us
would have liked.

The Mariners starting rotation looked good in parts
with Marco Gonzales leading the way and the
improvement of Justus Sheffield. We saw some
glimpses of Yusei Kikuchi while Justin Dunn
looked good in parts with some control issues.

Whether he starts the season or not we should see
Logan Gilbert in the rotation at some point. George
Kirby and Emerson Hancock our last number one
picks should follow Gilbert in short fashion This
I think with Hancock since he was number six
overall pick in this year's draft.

At this point we have no idea how many rounds
next year's draft will be. This year because of
Covid-19 there was only five rounds. There
has been talk having ten rounds this coming
draft. Nothing specific yet but I am sure the
days of 40 rounds is over.

How the minor league season will work this
coming year is in question as well. There is
talk not having as many ball clubs either. It
would be sad for those cities who have had
minor league ball for so many years to lose
their ball clubs.

I figure at this point with football and
basketball soon I will  probably write here
three times a week until next baseball season
maybe or just stay with three times a week
depending what comes up and what I have to
say.

Most likely I will write Monday, Wednesday,
and Friday for sure. I may throw in a Saturday
or Sunday as well. Until next time be safe
and enjoy your sports.
