Mariners Take Series Against Houston

It would have been nice if the Seattle Mariners
had swept the Houston Astros in this series ending
Wednesday. Would have made it even more
interesting to making the playoffs

For the Mariners to make the playoffs they will
have to beat the Oakland A's in the final four games
while Houston can only win one more game.

Someone suggested the A's tank the four games
so Houston wouldn't get into the playoffs. It would
be nice in one regard but Houston would have to
lose as well. Also, I am sure Oakland would like
to face them in the playoffs if it got to that point.

Wednesday Mariner start Nick Margevicius outdueled
Astros Zach Greinke,  The Mariners scored only
three runs, however, it turned out to be enough.
Margevicius went six innings giving up three hits,
three walks and striking out four. A good way to
end the regular season for Nick.

Seattle closer Yoshihisa Hirano made it interesting
allowing to Astros to score  two runs with two outs
before getting the final out making it 3-2.
Hirano walked the first hitter before recording the
two outs, then designated hitter Aledmys Diaz
hit a double, pinch hitter Josh Reddick hit a
double to score both runs. He walked lead off
batter George Springer but was able to get
Jose Altuve who isn't hitting well this year
with a .215 batting average.

The Mariners have Thursday off before going
against the A's on Friday. We wish the best
hoping to make the playoffs. Wouldn't that
be grand.
