like Mariners were going to extend win streak
to seven games but it didn't turn out that way.
The Mariners scored a run in the top of the
first inning then Giants tied in the bottom of
first. The Mariners were able to get the bases
loaded with JP Crawford hitting a double to
drive in all three runs but was thrown out
himself at third base. I am not sure why
manager Scott Servais did try to have the
call overturned because it looked like
Crawford was safe. Too early in the ball
game I suppose.
The bottom of the second with one out
Mariner starter Ljay Newsome was hit
by a line drive ball with one out he had
to the leave though x-rays were negative.
Newsome might be able to make his next
scheduled start.
Brady Lail came in for Newsome. He got
the final two outs of the second inning. The
top of the third Ty France hit a triple then
scored for the Mariners to be up 5-1.
The score was short lived as Lail gave up
four runs over the next two innings including
two home runs to tie the score 5-5.
The score was tied until the 7th inning when
Giant left fielder Alex Dickerson hit a home
run off Anthony Misiewicz who was the third
reliever after Lail. The Mariners were unable
to tie the game or go ahead. So they had to
settle for the loss.
Wednesday night Nick Margevicius will take
the mound for the Mariners against the Giants
on Roberto Clemente Day. Those who have
been around awhile remember the player
Clemente was before dying in a plane crash.
The Mariners hope to start a new win streak.
The Mariners will have Thursday off before
playing in Arizona against the Diamondbacks
for three games. The Mariners return to play
the Oakland A's next Monday in a double-header
to make up for two of the three games were
postponed. Go M's.
