Preview of Arizona Series

Though the Seattle Mariners lost both games to the
San Francisco Giants on Tuesday and Wednesday
they are still only two games behind the Houston
Astros.

The Arizona Diamondbacks the Mariners play this
weekend are dead last in the NL West Division.
They do play in a tough division so what it means
we will have to see.

We can hope the Mariners can play the Diamondbacks
like have the Texas Rangers.

Caleb Smith will be making his first start for the
Diamondbacks. He was to the Diamondbacks at
the trading deadline from the Miami Marlins. He
has made only one start on the season and it was
with the Marlins. He was placed on the injured
list shortly after that start. He pitched three innings
giving up one run. We see the Mariners offense can
get after him.

Yusei Kikuchi has started six times on the season
for the Mariners. In his last outing on September
4 he went six innings giving up one run on two
hits while striking out seven without a walk. If
Kikuchi can duplicate that pitching performance
the Mariners will have a pretty good chance in
winning.

No transactions occurred since Wednesday's
night game. We will see  any happen before
Friday night's game. We wish the best for the
Mariners in Arizona before returning to Seattle.
Go M's.
