Third Straight Loss: Mariners

The Seattle Mariners lost their third straight game
in the opening game of the series on Friday night
to the Arizona Diamondbacks 4-3.

Yusei Kikuchi got off to a rough start giving up
three runs in the first inning. In the third inning
he gave up his final run. At that point the Mariner
were behind 4-1 as Dylan Moore hit a home run
in the top of the third inning.

Kikuchi pitched well after the third inning going
six innings total. He walked one batter while striking
out five. He needs to throw his fastball a little bit
harder at the beginning of the game.

Roots Sports analyst Bill Krueger believes Dylan
Moore could become a superstar. The Mariners need t
o have him stick at one position though he is versatile
according to Krueger. Second base right now would
be the spot for him.

Shed Long Jr. who had played a lot of second base
before not able to hit pitching like the Mariners
wanted him to has gone on the injured list. So we
will see Moore a lot there instead. We may see Ty
France at second base as well. Speaking of France
he hit a home run in the 8th inning to bring the
game closer however the offense couldn't score
in the ninth inning to tie or go ahead.

JP Crawford  isn't going to be in the lineup for a few
days as he is on the bereavement list  Dee Strange-Gordon
played short on Friday night.  I am sure Crawford will
be back when the Mariners are back home next week.

We will be seeing Justus Sheffield on the mound Saturday
night against the Diamondbacks. He has pitched well
lately so hope for the same. It will be nice if he and the
offense can stop this losing streak.

Remember football the Seahawks have their opening
game of the season in Atlanta with the game starting
10 am  Seattle time.

On the injury front back up offensive lineman Cedric
Ogbuehi will be out and wide receiver Phillip Dorsett
is questionable. Left tackle Duane Brown sat out of
practice most of the week with a knew problem,
however, he is expected to play.

Remember Go M's and Hawks!
