WSU Loses Football Coach

Jimmy Rogers after only one season
at Washington State is moving onto
Iowa State where their head coach
Matt Campbell left for Pen State.

Sunday the Cougars will find out
whst bowl game they will play in.
The interim coach will be defensive
coordinator Jessie Bobbit who likely
move on after the game and wouldn't
be a surprise if he ends up at Iowa
State.

On Thursday backup quarterback Jaxon
Potter announced he was going into
the transfer portal. Zevi Eckhaus will
likely start in his final season in college
for the Cougars. Iowa State has depth
at quarterback unless one decides to
enter the transfer portal and go to
Penn State. We will learn coming up
who else might transfer from WSU.

The Cougars fired their athletic director
recently and has someone who is interim.
Talk is former Oregon State and Michigan
State coach Jonathan Smith who was just
fired could end up with the Cougars. We
have to figure he is a good candidate
for the Cougars job.

Wednesday the Cougars signed 28
prospects. Now we have to see how
many end up staying or entering the
transfer portal which is a sad thing
all around. Undergraduates do have
right to go elsewhere however in
my opinion they should be able to
transfer to another team in the
same conference for a year. That
wouldn't be for those who have
graduated and still have eligibility.

We will have to see how many players
will decide to play in the bowl game.
The Cougars have eight players on
offense that the bowl game will be
their last college game. Most of the
second team are undergraduates so
we could see some of them enter
the transfer portal. They have ten
defensive players who will be the
last one coming up for them. We
hope some player will decide to
stay at least until after the bowl
game.  Since most of the Cougars
players have been there star when
recruited some may not fit into
Iowa State. Of course this can come
to how many transfer out though
Jimmy Rogers will look elsewhere
to see who is in the transfer portal.
I am sure will speak to some of the
players on the team too.

We wish him the best at Iowa State.
Go Cougs!
