the Red Sox 8-5. The game
wasn't as close as the score
shows. Playing in Fenway Park
anything can happen.
Emerson Hancock had his first
quality start of the season
and maybe his best in the majors.
Emerson gave up five hits, two
walks, seven strikeouts and
giving up two runs in six innings.
It was the bottom of the Mariners
batting order that got most of
the production. JP Crawford hit
a three-run homer in the fourth
inning to put the Mariners up
4-0. Emerson gave up a run
in the bottom of the fourth and
fifth inning. It was nice he got
through the sixth easily.
Gabe Speier who has done well
all season pitched well in the
seventh inning. The Red Sox
got a three-run homer in the
8th by first baseman Triston
Casas who hit one as well on
Tuesday night. Casey Legumina
was the Mariners pitcher who
gave up the home run. Fortunately
he survived after that. I know
decisions are not easily made
however in Fenway Park it might
be good to warm up someone.
It would hard one to stomach if
the Red Sox had won. Andre
Munoz pitched the ninth to get
another save.
Bryan Woo will start the final
game of the series. Regardless
what happens the Mariners have
at least five wins on this road
trip which is good. The game
will start in the morning in
Seattle.
Tomorrow night will be the
first round of the NFL draft.
The Seahawks have the 18th
pick so should have the pick
come in around 6:30 or so
Seattle time. A lot depends
whether they pick at 18 or
move up or down.
Check you on Thursday.
