road trip going 6-3 by beating
the Red Sox 4-3.
The Mariners scored two runs
in the first and second innings
and able to hold on. They continue
winning close games.
Mitch Garver who caught the
game hit a double in the first
inning scoring Dylan Moore
and Randy Arozarena who
walked three times in the game.
Garver's now hitting .214.
Though he has no home runs
and four RBIs is hitting .250
in the last seven games. Maybe
it is a good sign.
Alex Bergman who had a good
series against the Mariners hit
a home run off of Bryan Woo.
In the top of the second Dylan
Moore had a sacrifice fly to
score Ben Williamson and Julio
followed with a ground out
allowing Leo Rivas to score.
Bottom of the third Bergman
hit a single to drive in the
Red Sox second. The score
stayed that way until the
eighth when Carlos Narvaez
hit a homer off of Gabe Speier
his first mistake on the season.
One mistake a month wouldn't
be bad for sure.
Bryan Woo had the second
quality start in a row for the
Mariners going six innings
giving up three hits and the
two runs. He only walked
one and struck out eight
on the day.
A surprise is the Mariners
hadn't had two quality starts
in a row since 2001 when
Jamie Moyer and Freddie
Garcia did it. With maybe
the best starting rotation
last year I would have thought
the Mariners may have done
it a few times. Surprise.
The Mariners are now 14-11.
They are a half game behind
the Rangers. The Rangers play
the A's tonight on the road. If
they lose the two teams will
be tied for first in the division.
The Astros don't play do they
will be a half game behind the
Mariners and maybe Rangers.
The Mariners will play a series
beginning on Friday at home
against the Miami Marlins.
Going into the game they
are 11-13. See if the Mariners
can win another series. Go M's.
The first round of the NFL draft
begins Thursday evening. The
second and third will be Friday.
Let you know it goes. Go Hawks!
