Mariners End Losing Streak

The Seattle Mariners beat the
Astros in opening game of
the three against the Houston Astros
4-3 on Monday night.

Two common things in this one
where the Mariners won by
one run and Logan Gilbert with
little run support.

No runs for either team until Ryan
Bliss hit a two-run homer in the
fifth inning. Jose Altuve hit a
homer off Logan in the sixth inning.
It was the only hit  that Logan
gave up. Logan left with two outs.

Trent Thornton came in the sixth
with two outs and got the third
out. He pitched the seventh inning.

Gregory Santos pitched the 8th
inning. The Astros scored two
to take the lead however both
were unearned. Jorge Polanco
hit a single in the bottom of
the 8th scoring Dylan Moore
and Miles Mastrobuoni who
walked after hitting for Bliss.

Andre Munoz came in the
9th and got the save. He gave
up no hits and struck out one.

Victor Robles went on injured
list. Details of MRI may come
on Tuesday so may know more
and how  long he will be out.
Luke Raley was in right field.
Rowdy Tellez at first base.
Polanco was at dh.

On Tuesday the Mariners face
lefty Valdez so be interesting
the lineup. Since they are facing
Valdez and Wednesday is a
day game Mitch Garver likely
catch Tuesday while Raleigh
is dh or on the bench. A lot
depends whether they want
Polanco be at dh or third
base.  We could see Dylan
Moore in right field or Raley
again. Go Mariners!
