Mariners Sweep Rangers

The Seattle Mariners swept the
Rangers by beating them
3-1 on Sunday.

Logan Gilbert struggled in
the first inning just like
Bryce Miller and Bryan
Woo did in the previous
two games. He didn't give
a run either in the first.
Logan only went five innings
giving up a home run in the
second inning. He walked
one and struck out seven.

Cal Raleigh hit a two-run
homer in the first inning.
Julio scored the final run
in the sixth inning when
Randy Arozarena was hit
by a pitch with the bases
loaded. He has been up
a lot with bases loaded
recently.

The Mariners used four
relievers and gave up
only one hit on the day.
Munoz had his six save.
The Mariners are now
8-8. Now they go on a
nine game road trip. We
will see what kind of
team they are.

Before the game the
Mariners brought up
one of their top prospects
in Ben Williamson from
triple-A Tacoma and
sent down outfielder
Dominic Canzone.
This means that Dylan
Moore may play more
outfield against lefties.

We should expect Williamson
to play a lot at third base.
He was brought up mostly
for his defense than his
bat. Polanco will dh mostly
against right handed pitchers
until he gets healthy. Mitch
Garver against righties for
now. He is only batting .182.
This means to that Cal
will likely get a day off against
a lefty and dh instead.

Miles Mastrobuoni will likely
play some second as well
as some third. A left handed
bat probably face righties
while Leo Rivas will face
lefties.

Coming up Tuesday thru
Thursday the Mariners will
face a lefty in game one
and righties in game two
and three. Williamson will
start game one and see
after that. They will have
Mastrobuoni on the bench
in game one as well as
Luke Raley. Though Raley
will start against righties
he will mostly stay in
against a lefty. Go M's.
