Mariners Lose Split Games

The Seattle Mariners haven't done
well in split squads so far. Fortunately
the games don't count.

In game one Logan Gilbert gave up
three runs in four innings. He gave up
a solo home run in the second.
One thing he could do is cut down
on home runs.

Logan last year looked like a Cy Young
winner however he had a 9-12 record
since he had little run support.  News
came out that Logan will be the opening day starter. Who follows him
is hard to know.

The final was San Francisco Giants
6-2.

The Mariners didn't have much hitting
and the two runs unearned.  They
had three hits by Donovan Solano,
Dominic Canzone and Cole Young.

In the second game the Mariners
lost to the San Diego Padres  8-3.
In this one the Mariners had five
hits. Randy Arozarena hit a home
run in the 4th inning to tie at 2-2.
Pretty much the Padres the rest
of the way.

Arozarena had two hits as well
as Ryan Bliss who had a double
and scored twice. Don't expect
a lot of home runs however he
could have a lot of doubles with
his speed. Right now he looks to
be the starter at second. Blake
Hunt had the fifth hit as he came
in for Mitch Garver at catcher.
It was his first game since he was
injured last Monday and thought
he might miss some time.

Bryce Miller takes the mound
against the Cincinnati Reds
on Sunday. At this point he
looks to be the third starter
though on the Mariners it
doesn't look like any difference.
So he will start in two weeks
against the A's on the 29th.

Seth Martinez who gave up
four runs on Wednesday in
his only appearance with
the Mariners was put on
waivers and the Miami Marlins
reclaimed off of waivers. We
wish him the best.

Go M's.
