against the Guardians for three
innings do the starters are
beginning to extend their innings
and pitch counts.
Castillo threw only 42 pitches
which is a good sign. Often
he would throw more pitches
during the regular. At this
rate he might be able to go seven
innings. He gave up two runs on
three hits. The two runs were solo
home runs. He walked only one
batter. It would be nice if he do
similar this season.
Jorge Polanco made his first
appearance of the spring. He dh
instead of in the field. There are
concerns that he might not be
ready to play third base when the
season begins. This could mean
that Donovan Solano may play
third base until Polanco is ready
in the field. We could see Tyler
Locklear platoon with Raley
at first.
The Mariners had Victory Robles
in center field where he may play
when Julio has a day off in the field.
Robles showed last year he is pretty
good out there two.
Cal Raleigh later dh and had a home
run. The home run was off former
teammate Paul Sewald who signed
with Guardians as a frer agent.
Mitch Garver started at catcher.
Colton Bolton pitched an inning
without giving up a run. Cody
pitched 17 games last year for
the Mariners. He started the
season on the injured list. June
on he pitched in 33 games for
the Tacoma Rainiers.
Eduardo Bazardo pitched as well.
He pitched 23 games for the
Mariners as well in Tacoma.
The Mariners really liked what
he did when he was recalled in
September. He pitched in ten
games and gave up only two
runs for an era of 1.80. The
Mariners don't have many
openings however Bazardo could
get that spot. So far he has pitched
in three games in the spring. He
has given up two hits and three walks.
No runs against him yet.
The Mariners have Tuesday off
before getting back to more
spring games. Go M's.
