Huskies In The NFL : Tampa Bay Buccaneers

We will look at the Washington Huskies in the NFL by team. We start with the
Tampa Bay as they have most players
with five.

The most recent Huskies drafted
by the  buccaneers last year were
wide receiver Jalen McMillan in
the third round and Delvin Culp
in the seventh round.

McMillan missed half of the season
when the Huskies went to the
National Championship game. The
reason he didn't get drafted until
the third round. He had a good rookie
season with 37 catches and 8
touchdowns. We hope a better season
in 2025-26.

Delvin Culp tight end college career
was mostly a backup player. Being
a seventh pick isn't automatic to
make the NFL. In limited action
Delvin had five catches in five games.
He didn't have any touchdowns however had 88 yards which is an
average of 17.6 per catch. We wish
him a better second season.

Cade Otton tight end was a 4th pick
in 2022 by Buccaneers. He had to
work up and is the team's starting
tight  end. Last season Cade had
59 catches and four touchdowns.
That is good for a tight end and he
had more catches than McMillan.

Greg Gaines defensive tackle was
drafted by the LA Rams in 2019
in the 4th round. He won a Super Bowl
with the Rams. Gaines signed as a
free agent in 2023 with Tampa Bay.
This year he signed his third one-year
contracts with them. He is the backup
nose tackle and gets some good
playing time since it is a tough
position to play.

The longest former Huskies is
Vita Vea the start nose tackle.
He was drafted in the first round
in 2018. Vea has been a pro bowler
twice. He had seven sacks last season.

We will continue on Huskies by teams.
Go Dawgs!
