Mariners Win Huskies Lose

The Seattle Mariners beat  Colorado Rockies Sunday afternoon 8-1.

Most of the Mariners runs were
scored late by the young guys.

Luis Castillo started and went
three and a third innings. He gave
up a run in the 4th. He looked
good other than throwing more
pitches in his last outing. He is
looking good though. He gave
up one walk and struck out one.
The Mariners have another off
day on Tuesday so we may not
see him pitch again until next
Friday. He may have only have
two more starts in training camp.
Could start a third game if necessary.

JP Crawford started the scoring
hitting a solo home run. Jacob
Nottingham who came in for Cal
to catch hit a massive home
run scoring three. This was after
Miles Mastrobuoni singles in a run.

In the 8th inning  Nick Dunn gets
on and after an out top prospect
Colt Emerson hits a double. First
baseman Luis Suisbel hits a
three run homer of his own.
He is only 21 years old and hit
15 home runs at Modesto last
year.  We could see Luis in Everett
this year along with Emerson.

In men's basketball the Washington
Huskies lost at home against the
Oregon Ducks however the game
into overtime. The final was 80-73.

Great Osobor who was the Huskies
best player this year player his final
game in college. He scored 21 points.
He was 6 out 12 in field goals and
9 of 12 at the free this line.

The Huskies had there whole
starting lineup scoring in
double figures however only
six points off the bench. Much
of the problem has been lack
of scoring from the bench most
of the season.

Now we will have to see how
the Huskies lineup will look
next year. They do have several
international prospects however
we will have to see who they get
through the transfer portal. First
yearnhead coach Danny Sprinkle
knows they need to improve
at every position. Go Dawgs

Sunday night Washington State plays
San Francisco Dons. The winner will
face Gonzaga tomorrow  night in
the WCC tournament.
