evening game for the first
time in spring training. I was
able to see on major league
baseball app. They have the
radio broadcast so able to
hear Rick Rizz. Also former
Mariners reliever Charlie
Furbish was on the broadcast
to.
Bryan Woo made his first spring
start of spring training. He went
one and two-thirds of an inning.
Gave up no runs, hits or walks.
No strike outs either. He threw
21 pitches. The other Luis Castillo
as I call him gave up a run in the
third inning after Samad Taylor
drove in a run. I think it was
funny that they him a blown save
in the third inning.
The Mariners only had two starters
to play in Arozarena who led off
and Cal Raleigh at dh. Cole Young
who came in for Cal at dh hit a
double to drive in the winning run
in the seventh inning. Final was
Mariners 2 Padres 1. Certainly
different than most of the other
games.
Emerson Hancock will start
Saturday afternoon against
the Chicago White Sox in
Peoria. Most likely see some
more of the starters in this
one.
Before I forget Donovan Solano
made his first start of spring
after being late because of
visa issue. Though he will be
seen at first base a lot especially
against lefties he played at
third base. May see him in a
game at second as well.
Now that we have seen eight
games from the Mariners in
spring training we will see
more of the regulars. The minor
leaguers will likely play fifth
inning and beyond this week.
They have 21 spring games
remaining. They have an off
day this coming Tuesday.
Those still fighting for a spot
may start see more what they
can do. The bullpen basically
has one spot opened. The
second base position is the
other. Hoping that Cole Young
is able to be the starter there.
Ryan Bliss and Leo Rivas still
in there. Of course Dylan Moore
if the others aren't able to start.
Until next time Go M's
