Mitch Haniger Released and More

The Seattle Mariners last year before
training camp they traded to have
Mitch Haniger back. Like most of
the offense Haniger didn't have a
good year.

We were hoping this year he might
rebound and be the right handed
dh however it wasn't meant to be
having a bad shoulder. His shoulder
must be worse than we thought.
I know about shoulders since mine
has been hurting for three years
off and on.

Mitch was a fan favorite when he
was healthy. The trade the Mariners
had with Arizona Diamondbacks he
was the best player the Mariners
received in return. He even made
the all-star team.

The Mariners made some other
moves as well. Included being
sent down were catchers Blake
Hunt and Harry Ford. They maybe
sharing time st triple A Tacoma.
Both had good spring training
so something happens in the
catching position one will come
up. Ford we could see him playing
other places besides catcher when
he isn't behind the plate. Probably
dh and left field as an example.

The Mariners have 12 position
players on the roster. This means Rowdy Tellez likely made the time
and they have to add him since he
was not on the 40-man roster
during the spring and was invited
as he signed a minor league deal.

Tellez did a fine job with the odds
of making it. The Mariners already
had Luke Raley and Donovan Solano
who were figured to platoon at
first base. Tellez likely will be the
left handed hitting dh while Mitch
Garver will be except when he plays
behind the plate. Occasionally he
will play first base when Raley
is in the outfield.

Sunday the Mariners beat Milwaukee
10-6. The Brewers were leading
going into the bottom of the 8th
when they scored seven runs. Julio
hit a grand slam followed by Cal
Raleigh who hit his second home run
in the game. Both look ready to go.

Bryce Miller started going five and
one-thirds innings giving up four
runs however two were earned.

Monday Bryan Woo will start against
the San Diego Padres in Peoria. After
the game the team will fly to Seattle
to open Thursday.

Let you know this game goes
and any additional moves. Go M's.
