Cal Raleigh Mariners Catcher

Spring training is always busy for
the catchers. The Mariners have
like six with about forty pitchers
in camp to begin with.

Cal Raleigh will have another busy
season. We hope that Mitch Garver
will hit better to give Cal a few extra
days off. In some cases Cal will dh
or pinch hit.

Although Julio is the superstar on
the Mariners Cal is the obvious
leader and becomes more each
season. Cal was the best catcher
in baseball as all his awards show.

Though Cal didn't have a high batting average as most of the team he
led them with 34 home runs and
100 RBIs. He was really the only
clutch hitter hitting .270 with runners
in scoring position.  It would be
nice to see his batting average
rise however his most value is
behind the plate.

Any new pitcher who makes the
roster Cal will have to get to know
them. At this point it doesn't look
like many will be new. The starting
should be the same. The bullpen
may only have a spot or two. Matt
Brash will take a spot when he is
ready.

Up next we will be on manager
Dan Wilson. Go M's
