Cougars looked like they were
going to be upset at home by
Pepperdine.
It looked like it would be the
Cougars sixth loss in a row.
They have played some tough
competition along the way.
The Cougars were even down
by seven points with a minute
and a half to go. Isaiah Watts hit
a three point shot to help them
go on a 7-0 run to tie the game.
Pepperdine made one of two foul
shots with 25 seconds to go. LeJuan
Watts had a layin with 11 seconds to
make the final score WSU 87
Pepperdine 86. Ethan Price blocked
a shot with 30th of a second for
the win.
The Cougars made more shots
than Pepperdine in this one.
Giving up more free throws again
almost cost them another game.
The Cougars need to stop giving
more fouls than their opposition.
The Cougars were able to have
every starter in double figures
in scoring. Nate Calmese again
led them this time in scoring with
16 points. He basically scored
his season average which is at
16.2 per game.
The Cougars don't play again
until next Saturday at St. Mary's
so won't be an easy task. The
next two will be home the
following week against Gonzaga
and Santa Clara. Life isn't easy
for them. Go Cougs.
Gonzaga is comfortably ahead
of Pacific on the road. The Huskies
play under two hours so let you know
how both of them go.
