Washington Huskies Men's End Losing Streak

On Saturday morning Pacific Time the 
Huskies played the Golden Gophers
in Minnesota. They beat the Golden 
Gophers 71-68. This ended a six game
losing streak for the Huskies.

The Golden Gophers had a two game 
winning streak including beat the
Oregon.Ducks last Saturday at home.
They lost to.Michigan State on the
road on Tuesday 73-51. Like the
Huskies they have had to play against
tough Big Ten competition in recent
weeks.

Dawson Garcia 
scored 16 straight points for Minnesota to get back into the game.
Guard DJ Davis made two free throws
with 9.5 seconds for the win.

The Golden Gophers are 3-8 in
conference play while the Huskies
with the win are 2-8 and in last
place. The Huskies will be playing 
competition for much of February
where they can win. 
The Huskies were led by Tyler Harris
with 23 points. Like much of the
Huskies players hr has been inconsistent. Great Osobor who has
been their only consistent player
for the most part had 16 points. 
The other who has done well on
the season is Zoom Diallo who
had 11 points. He came off the
bench along with DJDavis and
center Franck Kepnang who returned
recently after being injured. Right
now the Huskies are going with a
8man rotation. 

This coming week the Huskies take
on Nebraska at home on Wednesday.
The Cornhuskers have  a 3-7 record
in the Big Ten. They take on Oregon 
in Eugene on Sunday before coming
to Seattle. Wilhelm Breidenbach will
look forward to his old team Nebraska
who he played at two years ago. 
Nebraska knows what the Huskies
went through losing six straight 
before beating Illinois at home on
Thursday 80-74.

The Huskies will.play Northwesten
next Saturday in Seattle. Northwestern
plays USC on Tuesday. They have
lost three straight games. They have 
a 3-8 record right now. 

The Huskies can beat both Nebraska
and Northwester this coming week
they will be moving up in the standings
though slowly. 

This coming week we will look
at former Huskies players from
last season who are still playing
college ball. Go Dawgs!
