Logan and George

This season Logan Gilbert and
George Kirby both should be
good along with the rest of the
starting rotation.

It will be hard to know which
one will be the ace for the
Mariners. To be honest any
of the starters could be the
ace.

Without looking at the stats
Logan looked to be the ace
last year. George didn't look
as good as 2023 though he
had some good outings.

It was amazing how well both
did when the offense wasn't
so good most of the time.
They had to be almost perfect
to win. We hope the offense
will be better this season though
they didn't pick up much help.

Logan seemed to give up more
home runs on the season. George
though he isn't wild and walks few
batters it seemed at times he was
tipping his pitches. Since George's
control is so good he should be
able to throw more pitches outside
to see if hitters will fall for it.

Having Dan Wilson as manager
for a full season I hope they keep
both of these two in the game
longer. When they are going well
they can throw more pitches. This
will allow the bullpen to have more
rest. If they have a good lead taking
them out after seven innings would
be fine. I would bring in one of
the lower relievers. All depends
how often they are pitching. No
matter what it is important to
pitch them enough but not over
extend them. I believe every
reliever should pitch at least
once a week.

Logan led the league in innings
Pitched at 208 and two-thirds.
He had an era of 3.23. He
struck out 220 batters while
walking only 37. He may
win the Cy Young this season
this year.

George Kirby's numbers didn't look
as good as the previous two years
however can't complain. He had
a 14-11 record going 191 innings in
33 starts. His era was 3.53. He walked
only 23 batters while striking out
179. He to could be in the running
for Cy Young.

Next up on the Mariners we will
look at JP Crawford. Go M's.
