with the Huskies all lost Saturday.
The Cougars were beaten by
Santa Clara at home 109-79.
The Cougars have found going
to the West Coast Conference
has been a rough start just like
the Huskies going to the Big Ten.
There is great men's basketball
played in both conferences.
Santa Clara made a team record
making 23 behind the 3pt. line
at a 60.5 percent shooting. The
Cougars made 9 of 26. The score
may have been worse if the Cougars
didn't make twice as many shots
at the foul line.
Santa Clara had five players score
in double figures while Cougars
had three. The Cougars were led
by Nate Calmese with 20 including
making 4 of 8 behind the 3point
line.
The Cougars have two remaining
games in tge regular season. They
take on San Diego this Thursday
at home.
Gonzaga lost to St. Mary's 74-67.
St. Mary's is winning the West
Coast Conference title. They may
play each other a third time in
the conference tournament. Both
teams should make the NCAA
tournament in March.
The Zags started all five seniors
and St. Mary's scored double
digits before the Zags scored a
point. The lead was ten points at
halftime. The Zags were able to
get it down two points late in.the
game before losing steem.
Final St. Mary's 74 Gonzaga 67.
Graham Ike led the Zags with
19 points with five five rebounds
which is low for him. Zags next
