Full Roster Opened Tuesday For Mariners

The first day of the full roster
is always exciting. The Mariners
had theirs on Tuesday.

Many of the position players
came in a few days early.
They reported on Monday
with physicals.

The Mariners have their first
preseason game which is
called tge Cactus league.

The Mariners have over 70
players in camp. They have
the 40-man roster plus those
who were invited to camp.
Those include the top prospects
and those on minor league deals.

The opening day roster is 26.
So like 48 won't be with the
Mariners. Many will be going
to the minor leagues and those
who are veterans whether minor
or major league maybe released.

Those who are invited on non-
roster Cole Young has the best
shot to make the team at second
base. Cole will only be on the
team if he becomes the Mariners
opening day second baseman.
He will go back to double-A
or to triple-A.

For the rest of the non-roster
the chance is not likely unless
it is in the bullpen.

The Mariners first game in the
spring will take place on Friday
when they play against the San
Diego Padres in Peoria. Don't
expect too many starting players
to play in this one. If any do it will
be for like three innings. Play ball!

Gonzaga plays at Washington
Huskies Wednesday night in
Pullman. The Cougars will have
to play better as of recently to
have a shot to win. The Washington
Huskies are home against Rutgers.
They have been struggling since
playing against their Big Ten
opponents. It is an important
game again if they want to play
in the conference tournament.
Only 15 teams play in it. As of
now the Huskies are now number
15. Go Dawgs!
