Mariners Lose Series Opener In Minnesota

The Mariners  had the opportunity  to  win
however couldn't come through once again.

The Minnesota  Twins  won 3-1

Luis Castillo  pitched well  however  didn't
get the support  to win. He went six and
two-thirds  inning. Another quality  start
for the Mariners.

Jorge Polanco  who returned to Minnesota
where he got a good ovation in his first
at bat had one of the Mariners  three hits
on the night in the 7th inning.  He was able
to go on to third base with a single by Mitch
Haniger. The Mariners  loaded the bases
with no outs. Ty France struck out then
Mitch Garver  wasn't  able  to hit it square
but enough to allow Polanco to come
home on  a sacrifice fly. That was it for
the Mariners  though able to tie game.

The Twins were able to get two runs in
the bottom of the 7th. Like the Mariners
they had a sacrifice  fly however a hit after
that to score another run. The Mariners
were unable to  do anything  in the 8th
or 9th so how it went.

We hope the Mariners  can recover and
win game two on Tuesday to tie the
series. There is  some things the Mariners
need to do to score more runs. No more
excuses. Go M's.
