George Kirby. Baltimore's leadoff hitter
shortstop Gunnar Henderson led off with
a home run. He already has 15 home runs.
Henderson and Astros outfielder Kyle
Tucker are tied for the lead in the American
League in homers. Colton Cowser
singled in Jordan Westburg with the
second run.
Luis Urias singled scoring Luke Raley
with Mariners first run in the second
inning. Orioles scored a run in the
bottom of the second to take another
two run lead. Third inning the Orioles
scored two more runs to break open
the game. Score Orioles 5 Mariners 1.
George Kirby was able to go six
innings giving up no more runs.
The Mariners made it interesting
scoring two more runs. Uris's hit
a double to score Dylan Moore.
Julio singled to scored Urias.
Mariners reliever Cody Bolton gave
up the final run in the eighth inning.
In May Bolton has given up six runs
in six innings. Have to see whether
he still should have a spot in the
Mariners bullpen.
The Mariners still have a game and a
half lead over the Rangers who lost
to Los Angeles Angels 4-1. The Houston
Astros is the hottest team in the
American League West going 8-2 in
last ten games. The Mariners are 5-5.
The Mariners now go to New York
to take on the Yankees in a four
game series. Won't be easy for the
Mariners as the Yankees are hot
with a 8-2 in last ten games. They
lead the American League East over
the Orioles by two games. It would
be nice if the Mariners could at least
go 2-2 in the series.
The Rangers have a three game series
against the Phillies this week. The Astros
take on the Angels in a three game series
beginning on Monday.
Logan Gilbert will start the opening game
against the Yankees on Monday.
Jorge Polanco missed another game.
Outfielder Jonathan Clase was in the
clubhouse just in case Polanco has to
go on the injured list. According to Scott Servais Polanco is feeling better. The
Mariners could see JP Crawford during
their time in New York or in Washington
DC. Go M's.
