Mariners Take It On The Chin

The opening game Friday night against
the Orioles in Baltimore got off to a
good start however that is how it
ended.

Dylan Moore being the leadoff hitter
had a double to lead off the first
inning then Mitch Garver drove him
home with one out. It look like a good
sign however the Orioles were able to
get to Bryce Miller for five runs in the
bottom of the first. It looked like Bryce
wasn't going to last long.

Fortunately he didn't give up anymore
runs as he went five and a third inning.
Dylan Moore had a home run in the 4th
however that was the offense on the
night. Baltimore led 5-2 after four innings
so the Mariners did have a chance at
that time. Who knows why the Mariners
can't do more when getting down in
a game like this to have a chance to win.
Not sure enough firepower or lack of
confidence.

The backend of the bullpen I don't
have a lot of confidence in either.
Cody Bolton came in and finished
of the sixth inning giving up a run.
Kirby Snead came in the seventh
inning. This was his fourth outing
since coming up from Tacoma
when Tayler Saucedo went on the
injured list. The previous outings
Snead looked good however this
game he gave up three runs on
three hits without an out. I hope
we see more of him like he did
in his first three outings. I am sure
we will see how it goes on this road
trip.

Eduardo Bszardo pitched the remain
of the seventh inning well as the eighth.
This time in two innings had no hits
given up no runs.

The positive part of this game was
Dylan Moore getting off to a good start
at the plate. We are expecting JP
Crawford back during this road trip.
Having Dylan coming off the bench
well as playing some lloutfield against
lefties is a good sign.  Cal Raleigh
had a couple hits which is a good
sign to. Late in the game lll with.it
basically over Zavala came in.to
give Cal the rest of the night off.
This being a ten game road trip
we should see Zavala at least three
times behind the plate.

Final Orioles 9 Mariners 2

Luis Castillo expected to start
Saturday afternoon followed by
George Kirby on Sunday. We
hope a rebound on Saturday.
