inning then was silent until the 8th
inning when they scored three
runs. The Astros scored two off
Luis Castillo in the fourth inning
and that was it.
Final Mariners 4 Astros 2
Ryan Presaly who used to be the
Astros closer pitched the 8th.
Mitch Haniger who was at dh
hit a double. Jonatan Class
pinch run. He moved to third on a
wild pitch. Ryan Bliss making his
second start was able to walk after
trying to bunt before the wild pitch.
JP Crawford struck out however
Josh Rojas hit a double to score
Clase to tie the game.
Julio ended up hitting a single to
third allowing Bliss to score however
Bregman had a throwing error
allowing Bliss to score to make it
4-2. Ryne Stanek pitched the 9th
striking out the first two batters.
Jon Singleton flied out to Luke Raley
to end the game.
Luis Castillo went six innings giving
up the two runs. The bullpen didn't
give up a hit in three innings. Great job.
The Mariners had seven hits while
striking out 14 times. Glad Castillo
kept it close. George Kirby will start
for the Mariners while facing Verlander.
Hopefully Kirby will be sharp to keep it
close. Texas Rangers won so they are
still three and a half behind the Mariners.
Tuesday the Seattle Kraken named
their new head coach Dan Blysma.
The Kraken stayed in their organization
as Blysma coached their American
Hockey League team. So he knows
the young players. One of his assistants
on that team will likely be his assistant
with Kraken. The Kraken two assistant
coaches could have a spot as well.
Go Kraken!
