Mariners End Losing Streak

Mariners 9  Nationals 5

The Mariners ended their four game
losing streak however didn't make
it easy. The Mariners scored a run
in the second inning and then three
more in the fourth.

Julio Rodriguez is starting to heat
up as he had his third home run
in the last three games. Ty France
hit a two run homer as well. Julio
two other hits in the game and
driving in four runs on the day
as well as scoring twice. Ty had
two hits while driving in three
runs.

Dylan Moore had a hit and drove
in a run. He started at third then
moved over to second when Polanco
had to leave the game. Polanco
drove in a run as well. Have to see
whether Polanco will lose some
more time or  not.

Bryan Woo pitched well for most
of his time in the game. He gave up
a home run to Joey Gallo in the  5th
inning to make it Mariners 4-1. Woo
started the seventh giving up two
runs. Ryne Stanek blew the lead by
giving up two runs making it 5-4
Nationals. Fortunately the Mariners
scored two in the eighth to take the
lead and three more in the 9th. Too
bad the Mariners had used some
of those runs in earlier games.

The Mariners activated left handed
reliever Tayler Saucedo off the injured
list. The Mariners optioned right hand
reliever Eduard Bazardo to Tacoma.
Tayler didnt play in this gsme however
we will likely see him in high leverage
situations like he had before being
injured.  Noe the Mariners have three
lefties among with five in the bullpen.
Most likely we will see Tayler pitching
in the seventh or eighth depending
where the other team is in the lineup.
We could see him in save situations
if the Mariners are facing lefties and
Munoz could use a day off.

Last year Julio didn't hit well in June.
He batted .196 though had three home
runs. We home better this time around.

The Mariners come home and play four games against the Astros before next
weekend. We hope the Mariners will
go at least 2-2 in the series.

Bryce Miller start Monday night's game.
We he does better than in recent outings.
Luis Castillo starts Tuesday followed by
George Kirby on Wednesday and Logan
Gilbert on Thursday. Bryan Woo should
start next Friday at home against the
Los Angeles Angels.

The Astros are four games behind the
Mariners so hopefully by next weekend
they haven't gained any ground on the
Mariners. The Rangers who are three
games behind the Mariners take on
Arizona Diamondbacks Tuesday thru
Thursday. Go M's.
