Washington State Cougar's Men's Basketball

Since Kyle Smith resigned then went
to Stanford as head coach there has
been a lot of changes to the team.
The Cougars will be playing men's
basketball in the West Coast Conference.
News came out that the Cougars along
with Oregon State Beaver is going to
join the Big 12. Already Utah, Colorado,
Arizona and Arizona State have joined
the Big 12 and start playing this coming
season.

Under new head coach David Riley
formerly at Easter Washington much
like the Washington Huskies  program
has had to bring in new players through
the portal.

Only real familiar name staying with
the Cougars is freshman Isaiah Watts.
Riley did bring forward Lejuan Watts
over from Eastern Washington along
with forward Ethan Price. A third one
as well in forward Dane Erikstrup.

Two redshirt freshmen are still listed on
the roster in forward Spencer Mahoney
and guard Parker Gerrits who is from
Olympia. They have sophomore forward
Rihards Vavers out of Latvia. Another
forward is ND Okafor a transfer from
the California Golden Bears out of
Ireland.

Incoming freshman is guard Kase
Wynott out of Winchester Idaho.
He is noted as a scoring becoming
Idaho's all-time high school scorer.

Currently with nine roster spots means
the Cougars have likely three spots
to add though a fourth could as well.

In football former Cougar linebacker
Devin Richardson who played one season.
at WSU signed a free agent contract
with the Seattle Seahawks after going
through minicamp. He played primarily
middle linebacker. So we will see how
he does with Seahawks.

The Cougars football program did lose
a lot of players though this coming year
they will play against mostly Mountain
West teams. Also see them early on
playing the Washington Huskies.

We will update later on who Gonzaga
has picked up for this coming season.
We know they will likely play the
Cougars as they will be in the same
conference this coming season. We
have to see whether the series between
them and Washington Huskies continue.
Go Zags!
