Seahawks Mini-Camp and More

On Friday the Seahawks started
minicamp for their rookie draft
picks and undrafted free agents.

Number one draft pick Byron Murphy 2
is already signed. He has been mentioned
in playing nose tackle however he could
play anywhere on the line.

Head coach Michael Macdonald was asked if the Seahawks defense will be like he had in Baltimoreor use the talents of the players they have. The likelihood is the players will
be used with the talents they have. Although he like to be like in Baltimore
the Seahawks will probably play different
schemes depending on the team they are
playing. It will be exciting to see what
happens and success.

Last year all the Seahawks draft picks
made the team. It will be interesting to
see whether the same this year. One
thing for sure is the draft picks were
picked for being physical to.

In other local sports on Thursday
Washington Huskies men's basketball
coach Danny Sprinkle named his
coaching staff. Andy Hill who last year
was associate head coach at Utah State
is the first one noted. He is excited
since he is a native of Washington. State.
He spend several years as an assistant
at Utah so he is familiar with this level
of college basketball. He is a good
recruiter which Washington needs.

The other three are Tony Bland, Demarlo
Slocum and Jerry Hobbies. All three
have experience as assistant coaches
as well.  The age of the transfer portal
these assistant coaches will be looking
at bringing in experience college players
that can help in areas of defences. Also
look at developing the incoming freshmen
as well as those who have been at
Washington for a short period of time.

We are looking at the Huskies program
to get better and make the NCAA tournament on a regular basis. In the
new Big Ten there will be 18 teams.
Depending on the year there could be
eight teams in the tournament so
hopefully the Huskies will become
part of the upper level of the Big Ten.
Go Dawgs!
