beating the Houston Astros on the road
5-4. This was after winning Saturday
5-0. On the road even more difficult.
The Mariners are now 19-15. The Rangers
are a game behind the Mariners. The Oakland A's have won five straight to
be a game behind the Rangers 17-17.
Quite the deal. Can't keep Oakland down
too many hears I guess. Houston and
the Angels are tied in 4th place at 12-22.
Bryce Miller pitched well until the 6th
inning when he gave up a two-run homer.
Mariners decided to leave him in the 7th
however he gave up another two-run
in that inning too. Tayler Saucedo who
pitched the 9th inning Saturday night
came in to finish the inning
Being down one fun into the 8th inning
Luis Urias hit a single then went to 2nd
on the throw with Dylan Moore scoring
to tie. Ryne Stanek came in the 8th
he struggled a bit but Munoz came in
to get the final out. Cal Raleigh hit a solo
homer in the top the 9th. Munoz came
back out to finish the game. He didn't
give up a hit.
The Mariners play the Twins in Minnesota
starting Monday. Sunday they lost to the
Boston Red Sox 9-2 however this was after
winning 12 games in a row. The Twins
are 19-14 just ahead of the Mariners.
This should be interesting four game
series.
George Kirby had an MRI done on his
right knee. The Mariners should know
the results soon. Kirby has been dealing
with it for a couple weeks. We hope
it won't keep him out at all although
Bryan Woo expected back soon if
Kirby needs to miss any time. This
would mean Hancock would stay in
the rotation.
Castillo will start game one against
the Twins while Hancock goes Tuesday.
Kirby is scheduled Wednesday however
Woo could go if necessary. We will
know in.the next couple days. Even if
Woo started Kirby could move back a
day or two instead of missing a whole
turn. Go Mariners!
