Great Win By Mariners

The Seattle Mariners beat Kansas
City Royals on.Monday night 6-2.
Excitement started in the first inning
with leadoff hitter Josh Rojas at
the plate. He hit tw
where the same fan caught both
of them. I don't think ever seen that
before.

George Kirby had a hard start hitting
two batters then settled down. Kirby
went seven innings giving up only
three hits and no runs. He struck out
six batters and no walks. Stanek came
in the 8th inning with the Mariners
leading 4-0. He struggled on the.mound
though he did get Salvador Perez out
with runners on base. Royals Massey
the second baseman hit a double to
score two runs to make it interesting.
Andre Munoz came in to get the final
four batters out.

Luke Raley had a fine night having three
hits and involved in all three innings
the Mariners scored. Luke had a two run
homer in the second. He had another hit
in the third where the Mariners scored two.
After the Royals made it 4-2 Luke had
his third hit then scored on Ty France
two run homer.

During the game the Mariners traded
reliever Tyson Miller to the Chicago
Cubs for triple A infielder Jake Slaughter
who is having a good season for Iowa.
Be interesting if we see himin Seattle.
It would be nice for the Mariners to
take this series. They are a game and
a half ahead of the Rangers.

The Mariners are going on a tough
road trip facing the Oriole's, Yankees
and the Nationals. It would be nice
if they can win at least five of the
ten games.

The Washington Huskies men's
basketball team officially signed
former Utah State power forward
Great Osobor. He will.make the
Huskies much better team.
They have one spot left on the
roster.

There is a thought they may sign
Colgate point guard Braeden Smith
a former Washington high school
player. We will let you know whether
they sign him or someone else.
