Washington Huskies Men's Basketball Up Date

The Washington Huskies men's
basketball team are under a new
coach in Danny Sprinkle.

Sprinkle comes over from Utah
State where in one season they
made the NCAA tournament.
That is his plan at Washington
is make a team that will go to
the tournament on a regular basis.

Right now he is in the process of
building hthe Huskies team again.
With the NIL and transfer portal
it isn't an easy task.  With the portal
players are expecting to play right
away or they will move along.

Last year under Mike Hopkins they
played with a eight-man rotation.
So likely you will see three or four
players moving along who are not
playing enough time. Bringing in
true freshmen means they need to
play right away or convince them
they will have plenty of playing time
in.their second season. It is harder
to keep players other wise.

Center Franck Kepnang plans to stay.
He has been hurt the last two years
after transferring over from Oregon.
He is a key return if he can be healthy.
He has the heart to play and make the
other players around him better.

Fellow center Braxton Mean is transferring
to Nebraska. Last year he had poor season
starting with an injury and then foul trouble
when he did play.

Wilhelm Breidenbach who came over as
a transfer from Nebraska last year hasn't
given his intention as of yet whether he
is staying or leaving. He showed some
good signs spending time coming in
for Meah. He would make up a good
front court with Kepnang.

Christian King who was a freshman
last year and didn't have a lot of
playing time along with Samuel Ariyibi
have to decide by today (Wednesday)
the dead line of going into the portal
whether they are staying or not. We
will see for sure.

The Huskies currently have four
other players committed to the
team. Recently DJ Davis a transfer
from Butler is now on the Huskies.
Don't know really anything about
him however over the years Butler
has had very good teams and has
done will in the NCAA tournament.

The Huskies have Rice guard Mekhi
along with four-star recruit Zoom
Diallo and touted prospect Base Butler.
The Huskies look to add a few more
players depending who may transfer
or not.

The Huskies have brought in veteran
college players under Hopkins the
last two years and though they were
exciting to watch offensively the defense
wasn't what could have been expected.

Coach Sprinkle plans to play man to
man defense. We hope to see at least
a couple veteran college players to
come in to be added it is defense that
will help the Huskies to succeed.
Go Dawgs!
