Mariners Unable Sweep Astros

It would have been nice if the Mariners
could have swept the Astros however
hard to do. They lost 4-0 on Thursday afternoon. Always like to win series
whether three or four games.

The Mariners offense lagged again
only having four hits. Ty France had
two of them. Again the Mariners
couldn't get hits off another pitcher
whose earn run average was over
six.

The Angels who the Mariners face
next have three pitchers over five
in era. The Mariners face Jose Soriano
for the first game of the season this
year against the Angels. He has an
era of 3.61 with nine starts in 11 games.
Last year he was a reliever for the
Angels. He has gone 29 and 2/3
innings in May. He has done better
than in April however his last out
gave up four runs in six innings at
home against Cleveland. It would
be nice if he can do  the same against
the Mariner.  Take the first game certain
be good.

Logan Gilbert went six innings for
the Mariners Thursday. He gave up
two runs in the fourth with a home
run than one run in the fifth and
sixth innings each. The Mariners
were able to save the bullpen with
Gilbert Snead going the final three
innings. Besides Snead the bullpen
should be set against the Angels.

The Texas Rangers didn't play Thursday
so they are three games behind the
Mariners. The Angels are last in the
division so hopefully stay that way
when Sunday ends.

Mariners top prospect Cole Young
hit .316 in his last ten games with
four home runs. Number two Harry
Ford is at .317 though only one run.
He had a slow start to the season.
Number three Cokt Emerson is on
the injured list. His last game May
16. Expected to be out s month.

Number four prospect Lazaro Montes
who has a personality like Julio I'd
batting .317 with two home runs in
his last ten games at Modesto.

Number five shortstop Felnin Celesten
playing his first season in USA at
rookie team in Arizona  is batting .338
on the season. May move up this
season to Modesto however he is
only 18 so Mariners will do what
feels right.

Next time will look at six thru 10 on
the farm.
