Wash Huskies Men's Basketball Add To Roster

The Washington  Huskies  New headcoach
Danny Sprinkle is adding more players to
the team's  roster as most of the players
used up their eligibility  or went  through
the transfer portal.

The Huskies have  three players who were
on the roster last season.  Wilhelm Breindenbach
who transferred  over from Nebraska last year
played the most of the three players. He
started some games at forward and center
while coming of the bench as well. He could
have the same role next season.  Christian
King the son of former Seattle  Supersonic
came in last year however didn't  have  any
playing time and Franck Kepnang  who
transferred  two years  from Oregon has
been hurt most of his time at Washington.
What we know about him when he is healthy
Kepnang  makes the Huskies a better team.
We hope he can be healthy next season.

The Huskies brought two players on board
just now in Luis Kortright a point guard from
Rhode Island and Tyler Harris  a forward who
can play small or big from Portland the same
school that last year's starter Moses Wood
transferred over from. He does have three
years of eligibility left over so we hope good
for the Huskies.

The Huskies right now have 11 spots on the
roster with one left to go. They are pursuing
more players which includes power forward/
center Great Osobor. Let you know he played
for Danny Sprinkle  so they know each other
well.  Last year he averaged 17.7 points a
game and 9 rebounds. Have to figure Osobor
will be a good replacement  for Keion Brooks
Jr. who was the Huskies best player last year.

The Huskies  have incoming freshman guard
Zoom  Diallo the  number  one player in the
State of Washington. This is a good sign as
the Huskies  haven't  always been able to
hook the best player out of Washington. It
would be nice under Sprinkle  to do so under
over the years ahead. Having a coach who
has been  to the NCAA tournament  in recent
years is a good sign. The Huskies  shouldn't
be just a football  school but a basketball
school as well. It would be nice to see them
along with WSU and  Gonzaga in more years
than not. We were hoping for that under coach
Mike Hopkins but didn't  happen.

The Huskies have five guards on the roster.
Mekhi Mason listed as a guard and small
forward.  Christian King the only one listed
at small forward only. As mentioned before
Tyler Harris could be seen there too. Most
of the time under Hopkins the Huskies went
with three guards. This last season  was  more
like two  guards. Sprinkle  plans to go man to
man defense so having two guards, two forwards
and a center is good however that comes down
to what the other team plays as well. Mason listed
as a guard and small forward  will help on
the other teams go with.

The Huskies have Breindenbach and newcomer
Chris Conway listed as power forward/center
along with Tyler Harris who could move to small
forward which can help out. Franck Kepnang
and KC Ibekwe at center. If Osobor does come
to Washington the Huskies do have alternative
up front which they haven't had a lot of it when
Hopkins was here. Last two  years  was the best
though this gives more depth.

The trouble  with the Huskies  last year though
the Huskies was a very good offensive team
last year scoring over 80 points a game they
gave up almost the same amount of points.
It will be nice if the defense is better. The
reason  the WSU  Cougars  made the tournament
was they had a good defensive  team.

The Cougars have a new coach and there will
be a turnover of players as well. So we will see
how they look going  into the West Coast
Conference.
