Both Friday Games End Up.In Ties For Mariners

The Mariners played split squad games
on Friday and they both end in a tie.
They tied the score in the 9th inning
as well in both.

In game one The Mariners and the
Diamondbacks played. The final was
3-3. Emerson Hancock started for the
Mariners. He pitched much better than
his previous two starts. Hancock pitched
four innings giving up four hits without
walk and a strike. He gave up one run
on a single to left field however Dominic
Canzone threw out a runner at second.

Canzone continues having a good spring and likely start in left field on opening day.
Hancock looks to be the sixth starter
when the Mariners need him. The question will he start in triple A or start the season in.the bullpen. A lotwould depend on what other pitchers do who could be in the bullpen. The Diamondbacks started most of their front line players while the Mariners
went with bench players or minor
leaguers so give Hancock's performance
looking even better.

Besides Canzone, Josh Rojas at third base
and he continues having trouble at the
plate without a hit. Dylan Moore started
at shortstop. He continues getting hits
this spring. High prospect Colt Emerson
came in for Moore later. He had a double
in the ninth inning to help tie score.

In game two the final score was Seattle
4 Milwaukee 4. Luis Castillo started
against the Brewers going five and a
third innings. He gave up two runs on
three hits, walked two and struck out
nine. This will be his last start of the
spring before going on opening night.
If Castillo almost duplicates those
stats against the Red Sox the Mariners
have a great shot at winning game one.
Both Brewers runs against Castillo
happened in the fourth inning.

The Mariners had most of their
starters in this game outside of
Canzone. Taylor Trammell started
in left field had a two run homer
in the second inning. Since he is
out of options this could be his
last week in a Mariners uniform.
Most likely Taylor will be picked up
by another major league club.

Jorge Polanco who continues
having a great spring hit a home
run in the 5th inning. The Mariners
were behind the Brewers by one
run with two outs. Cole Young
the  team's top prospect with
two strikes on him hit the tying
home run in the bottom of the
9th inning. Let everyone go home
with a good feeling.

George Kirby will make his last
start in Arizona on Saturday.
Logan Gilbert will follow on
Sunday the last game in Peoria.
The Mariners will play two Monday
and Tuesday against the Padres
in San Diego. Bryce Miller and
Bryan Woo will start both of those
games then the way home to
Seattle for opening day on Thursday
Go M's.
