Monday afternoon 9-5. They pretty much
went with minor leaguers in the pitching
department. Reliever Ryne Stanek made
his spring debut giving up no runs with
one hit and a strike out.
Dominic Canzone is having a good
training camp. He had a home run
in the first inning and later a sacrifice
fly. Canzone looks like he should
get plenty of time in the outfield.
Most likely in left though could see
him in right on occasion. He will get
time at the beginning of the season.
The Mariners will go with the hot
guys. Haniger will probably play a
lot early to. How much he plays will
depend on his health. The thing about
Haniger he will be able to hit anywhere
in the lineup. Depending how many
righthanders they face will decide
when he will have break. The Mariners
will start the season facing the Red
Sox in four games to start at T-Mobile
Park. We could see Haniger start three
of the four games. Depending how
Canzone and Raley do will decide how
it goes.
JP Crawford who started off slow is
hitting well now. He had two hits including
a double while driving in two runs.
The Rangers played with a mixture of
regulars and minor leaguers. The
Mariners season starts in ten days.
They will have a day off on Wednesday.
Mariners will have seven more days
of games. This Friday and Saturday
they will have split squad games.
Sunday will be the last game in
Arizona. They will play the Padres
next Monday and Tuesday in San
Diego before heading to Seattle.
Expect they will have the opening
roster set when going to San Diego.
Really the roster is set besides the
bullpen and possibly utility player.
We could see the Mariners make
a trade or two.
The Mariners take on Colorado
on Tuesday. The starting pitcher
not announced yet. News came
last year's CY Young winner
Blake Snell who so wanted to
pitch for his home town Mariners
signed a two year deal with the
San Francisco Giants.
