Seahawks Sign Another Linebacker

The Seattle Seahawks signed a second
linebacker on Saturday in Jerome Baker.
He played six years for the Miami
Dolphins. Basically he and Jordyn Brooks
switched teams.

On Friday the Seahawks Tyrel Dodson
a free agent from.Buffalo. So these will
be the Seahawks starting linebackers.
Under Michael Macdonald the scheme
for the linebackers could look different
than under Pete Carroll. Though the
defense might be closer to that of the
Baltimore Ravens where Macdonald
was defensive coordinator things could
be slightly different. When he arrived
Macdonald said it would be the players
deciding how the defense is played.
These two could have more assets to
play the defense that Macdonald would
like. We will see when training camp
begins.

The Seahawks do have three other
linebackers on their depth chart
however the Seahawks may look
at more depth by signing someone
else and or the NFL draft. General
manager John Schneider says they
will draft best player available in
each round. There is a good possibility
the Seahawks will trade down in the
first round from 16th spot especially
after pucking up quarterback Sam
Howell from the Commanders.  A lot
may depend on who they feel is the
best player available at that spot
and could still get him later down
in the first round. This is what Schneider
has done often in the past. They gave up
a third and fifth round pick for Howell
so may want to pick up another player
in both rounds. If they do so they would
take the other team's first rounder besides.
Go Hawks!
