Washington Huskies Have New AD

One day after WSU lost their head
basketball coach  to Stanford they
lost their nathletic director to the Washington Huskies.

Tuesday the Huskies announced
Pat Chun will be the schools new
athletic director. Chun had been
at WSU for six years. His contract
at Washington will be six years too.

I am sure the Huskies alumni and
fans are happy about the hire WSU
so are not.  I thought the Huskies
may hire within after Troy Dannen
decided to go to Nebraska after
only five months . It seems that
Dannen was more comfortable
being in the Midwest so decided
to go back. I don't know the details
however I am sure he is making
more money at Nebraska in the
same way as Chin is at Washington.

With Sprinkle as head basketball
coach along with Jedd Fisch as
football coach and PST Chun as
AD. This should help the Huskies
as they go into the Big Ten.

The Cougars now should hire
within the department to get
their athletic director. I thought
this was what the Huskies were
going to do. Hiring a basketball
coach might be as hard or harder
then the AD. They will need to
the same by hiring as quickly as
possible.

The WSU Cougars football team
will be an independent team along
with Oregon State Beavers for two
years unless they are able to find
a conference to go to or merge
with the Mountain West Conference.
The basketball team will be in the
West Coast Conference for two years.
The new basketball coach may like
going to West Coast Conference
to take on Gonzaga and St. Mary's.
The Cougars could lose some of
their basketball players to the
transfer portal. Some may go to
Stanford or to Washington or one
of the other schools that were part
of the Pac-12.

The whole college sports scene is
crazy with transfer portal, NIL
and coaches moving here and there.
The same seems to be with the
athletic director as well. Coaches
usually have opt out of contracts
however the athletic directors
probably don't except at some
major universities. Stay tuned
for updating news.
